GENERAL RULES
The Competition program shall be played from memory.
Each contestant shall indicate the exact time needed for performing each piece.
Each piece must be played once; any repeat of an already performed piece in another round is not allowed.
The maximum playing time must not be exceeded by more than two (2) minutes in every round.
Eliminatory Round:
Maximum playing time: 50 minutes
Minimum playing time: 45 minutes
a) One Prelude and Fugue from Wohltemperierte Klavier by Johann Sebastian Bach.
b) Étude by Chopin (op.10, op.25).
c) One etude by Liszt or Skriabin or Rachmaninov or Prokofiev or Debussy or Bartok or Ligeti.
d)One part of a sonata by Haydn or Mozart or Beethoven.
If the total playing program of the pianist (after playing the above compulsory pieces) is less than the maximum time, s/he may choose an extra piece.
Final Round:
A recital program of the candidate’s choice up to 45 minutes
Minimum playing time 40 minutes
The pieces must not have been performed in the previous rounds and must include an important work of Romanticism (1820-1880).
